How to use XAML as window icon?

When I try to assign a DrawingImage to Window.Icon, I get the exception InvalidOperationException: ImageSource for Icon property must be an icon file.

Does WPF only support bitmaps as window icons? Then why is Window.Icon of type ImageSource?
